THE POWER OF DELAYING GRATIFICATION

FOCUS AND DELAY THE REWARD

Try to resist this impulsive temptation that burns you inside and “demands” from you to provide, at once, what it wants. If you can hold that craving for the instant reward and forget the itch you can achieve greater goals in the medium and long term. Basically, DELAYING GRATIFICATION means to learn how to suffer a bit now and discipline yourself every day to reach greater objectives later that otherwise, you could not achieve if you fell compulsively to that seduction that “lures” you in.

There are many examples, the duo EFFORT-MONEY almost always works well:

-Studying when you are young and have no money in order to get a better job in a few years and, from there, being able to tap into opportunities and benefits for a lifetime.

-Eat well and healthy regularly to have a better life and enjoy more, even when you hear the call from that pie or the steak.

-Do the most boring, tedious and unpleasant tasks first to rest and enjoy later.

-Work hard and strive in the early years to avoid suffering when seeking a promotion in the company and not having enough experience and accomplishments.

-Save and invest today, instead of spending, to reach a comfortable RETIREMENT.

When you follow this, you feel you control your life and not the other way around when your impulses dominate you. The sensation is that of security, being at peace with yourself and perceiving full stability. TRY IT OUT, at first, it will be difficult, start with small things you have always thought you do not need, or make you feel guilty after they are purchased. You will see how soon you will gain control of your finances.

Do not be like him and resist temptation!

PS: The secret is SELF-CONTROL

PS2: Indulge yourself in some pleasure or reward along the way, if not every day will become unbearable and you are more likely to fail in achieving those big goals that should come down the road.

AND YOU? HOW DO YOU RESIST TEMPTATION? DO YOU THINK LONG TERM?
