I´M NOT SURE IF I CAN SMELL THE SEA . . . BUT I KNOW IT´S CLOSE

It´s close . . .

I do not know if it will be the same for everyone, but I think it may be similar for many people . . . I remember when we traveled to the beach on vacation, after a good portion of the journey, but not quite there, still remaining another section, smaller, but considerable. We still had to pass the mountains and then gradually go down to the sea. Many times on the mountain, even if you could not see the sea at all, you could guess that it was already close. The humidity increased and, in many occasions, you could smell the sea.

From far away but the glimpse it´s there . . .

The other day drawing some numbers, I remembered when I could smell the sea as we went on those trips. I think it was a journey of about 3 hours and that special moment was sensed when you passed the 2 hours mark. That is, when we were 2/3 or 3/4 of a trip. Now we are at that point, there has been a lot of progress towards retirement and there is still a good stretch to go, but we are not far. We passed more than half the way and now the countdown begins. On that mountain road, full of curves and difficulties, the proximity to the sea was materializing. Although we knew that we still had to put up with the road for a bit longer, we were calm because the sand, the salt water and the finish line were nearby. The sea is waiting for me and I can almost smell it.
